Many NSW drivers don't realise that, depending on your policy, you may have the right to choose who repairs your car — you are not always locked into your insurer's preferred repairer. NOT AT FAULT? HERE'S HOW WE HELP

Replacement vehicle (if eligible)* — if you weren't at fault in the accident, ask us about a like-for-like replacement vehicle to keep you moving while yours is repaired. Eligibility is assessed case by case.

Excess assistance — we help car owners with their insurance excess, from 50% and up to 100% if you're not at fault — conditions apply.

Recovery support — if the other driver was at fault, we can guide you through claiming against their insurer so the process doesn't fall on you.

WHAT TO DO AFTER AN ACCIDENT

  1. Make sure everyone is safe and move vehicles out of traffic if you can do so safely.
  2. Exchange details — name, licence, rego, insurer — and photograph the damage and the scene.
  3. Don't admit fault at the scene; let the insurers determine liability.
  4. Call us on 1800 560 692 before you accept your insurer's default repairer — we'll explain your options and can arrange pickup of an undriveable vehicle.

Not necessarily. Many comprehensive policies let you choose your own repairer — check your PDS or ask your insurer. If your policy allows it, you can nominate Platinum Paint & Panel and we'll handle the rest.
